What was involved.

A flight control computer no longer supported by its manufacturer had failed, and the operator had been told the only option was a full system replacement. The unit was assessed, a repair approach defined and substantiated by test, and the computer returned to service — keeping a serviceable aircraft serviceable and leaving time to plan an upgrade properly.
